Við fjölskyldan lögðum land undir fót helgina fyrir kosningar og keyrðum til London. Aðalerindið var að fara í íslenska sendiráðið til að kjósa. Sem við og gerðum, og fórum svo á Natural History Museum í nokkra tíma á eftir sem var býsna gaman.

Það skringilega var þó að eftir að við höfðum kosið þá fengum við miðann í hendur, stimpil og undirskrift frá fulltrúa o.s.fr., og svo þurftum við að koma atkvæðunum okkar í póst sjálf! Ég spurði manneskjuna reyndar um þetta fyrirkomulag, og skildist á henni að þetta hafi verið gert svona í fleiri áratugi.

En hvað um það, skv. rakningarkerfi (e. tracking system) á http://www.postoffice.co.uk komust atkvæðin okkar til skila til Íslands föstudaginn fyrir kosningahelgina. Það lítur því út fyrir að fyrirhöfnin við að kjósa hafi ekki verið til einskis, og stuðningur okkar við nýju ríkisstjórnina hafi verið talinn með (segi ekkert hvaða flokkur var kosinn!).
